★ Nine pals. One city. ★
Meet the
gang!
The original gang welcomes Agnes, Lassie, Zara and Mrs McStay — nine different personalities sharing countless adventures across Glasgow and beyond.
The proud Glaswegian
Weegie
“Welcome tae the Universe!”
Weegie loves his city, his pals and an adventure. He is clever, kind and always up for a laugh. When things go wrong, he keeps calm, thinks smart and somehow gets the gang back on track.
What you need tae know
- ★ Loves Glasgow and his pals
- ★ Keeps the gang on track
- ★ Turns chaos into an adventure
The professional moaner
Grumpy Dug™
“Can we get on wi’ it?”
Dug can find something wrong with anything, anywhere, at any time. Too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry — life is just a series of complaints to him. Beneath the moaning is a big heart and a soft spot for biscuits.
What you need tae know
- ★ Finds fault with everything
- ★ Professional-level moaning
- ★ Secretly loves biscuits
The optimist
Quackie MacDuck
“QUACKIN’ BRILLIANT!”
Quackie sees the bright side of absolutely everything. To him, every day is a new adventure, every puddle deserves a splash and every terrible plan sounds brilliant.
What you need tae know
- ★ Everything is quackin’ brilliant
- ★ Treats every puddle as an adventure
- ★ Cannot whisper
The one who copies everybody
Copy Cat
“Stop copying me!”
If you do it, Copy Cat does it. If you say it, Copy Cat says it. She cannot help herself — but beneath all the copying is a good-hearted pal who only wants to join the fun.
What you need tae know
- ★ Copies what you say
- ★ Copies what you do
- ★ Means well underneath it all
The gentle giant
Hamish
“There’s always time for a story.”
Hamish is the gang’s big-hearted Highland cow. He is calm, loyal and always ready to help his friends. Full of wisdom and Glasgow stories, he usually begins with: ‘Pull up a chair — this is a good one.’
What you need tae know
- ★ Calm, loyal and dependable
- ★ Full of stories and wisdom
- ★ Always ready to help
Glasgow's agony aunt
Agnes the Pigeon
“Birds have eyes everywhere.”
Agnes is the pigeon who sees everything and gives advice whether anybody asked for it or not. Wise, blunt and caring beneath the sarcasm, she watches Glasgow from above and runs a bird network covering every scheme and every hoose.
What you need tae know
- ★ Wise, blunt and secretly caring
- ★ Gives gloriously unsolicited advice
- ★ Knows what happened before the gang does
Agnes knows what happened. Her Pigeon Intelligence Network supplies the facts, gossip and inconvenient eyewitness reports.
She appears wherever Dug least expects her, calmly reveals exactly what he has been doing and finishes with advice he definitely did not request.
Dug's cheerful nemesis
Lassie
“Cheer up, ya big sook.”
Lassie is Dug’s cheerful nemesis: sharp, upbeat and completely impossible for him to intimidate. Every time Dug finds a reason to complain, Lassie finds an even brighter answer — usually at his expense.
What you need tae know
- ★ Cheerful, sharp and fearless
- ★ Never fooled by Dug’s moaning
- ★ Can out-answer any complaint
Lassie adds the comic pressure. She keeps Dug honest, backs the others and refuses to let a dramatic moan become the final word.
Dug says everything is terrible. Lassie immediately proves it is not — then calls him a big sook while the rest of the gang tries not to laugh.
The creative problem-solver
Zara
“Educate yerself, Weegie.”
Zara is a proud young Glaswegian with Pakistani roots. Confident, creative and close to her family, she loves art, brings people together and sees practical answers when everybody else only sees chaos.
What you need tae know
- ★ Creative, confident and practical
- ★ Proud of Glasgow, art and family
- ★ Turns chaos into a workable plan
Zara knows what to do next. She turns Weegie’s big ideas into something the whole gang can actually carry out.
While everybody argues over a daft problem, Zara quietly solves it. Her straight-faced ‘Educate yerself, Weegie’ usually arrives one second before the gang realises she was right.
Everyone's favourite gran
Mrs McStay
“Now listen here, love...”
Mrs McStay is Glasgow’s fearless gran and resident tea expert. Wise, fair and never short of an opinion, she sorts problems with common sense, straight talking and the firm belief that tea comes before nonsense.
What you need tae know
- ★ Wise, fearless and fair
- ★ Tea first, nonsense second
- ★ Nobody argues with her twice
Mrs McStay makes sure everybody actually does it. Even Agnes pauses, Zara listens and Dug behaves — mostly.
Chaos stops the moment she says, ‘Now listen here, love...’ She can settle an argument, hand out jobs and put Dug in his place without spilling her tea.
